This essay is aiming to show that research on manuscripts, both of form and content, is not only an essential adjunct to Qur’anic and Tafsir (exegesis) Studies but also its significant to Islamic Studies. Outlining the importance of studying the Qur’anic manuscripts; what we can learn; a piece of its history; and some ways in which one can benefit from research in this field in the future.
